                 St. Kitts & Nevis

                        Citizenship by Investment?

 

  • An individual applicant who is at least eighteen years of age.

  • In family cases, the head of the family is considered as the main applicant and he/she must be at least eighteen (18) years of age. The following family members can join a main applicant in his or her application for St. Kitts and Nevis Citizenship by Investment:

                   

                   The main applicant's SPOUSE who must be the partner of the opposite sex of the main applicant by                         marriage. In cases where the main applicant has more than one spouse only the spouse of the first                           marriage can be included in an application for citizenship;

 

                   Any biological or legally adopted UNMARRIED CHILD of the main applicant or the main applicant's                     spouse can be included in an application for citizenship provided they fall under one of the following                       categories:

                               (a) any child under eighteen (18) years old;

                               (b) any child ages eighteen (18) to thirty (30) years who is fully dependent financially on the                                       main applicant; or 

                               (c) any child who is eighteen (18) years or older and is physically or mentally challenged as                                       certified by a medical practitioner.

 

                  The main applicant's PARENTS and GRANDPARENTS, or the parents and grandparents of the main                      applicant's spouse, if they are fifty-five (55) years or older and live with the main applicant and are fully                    supported by main applicant.

                  The main applicant's or spouse of the main applicant's BROTHERS and SISTERS so long as they are:

                               (a) unmarried;

                               (b) childless;

                               (c) thirty (30) years of age or younger; AND

                               (d) dependent on the main applicant for support.

   Who cannot get 

             St. Kitts & Nevis

                     Citizenship by Investment?

 

  • Citizens of Iran

  • Citizens of Afghanistan

  • Citizens of North Korea

  • Citizens of Russia

  • Any person, regardless of nationality, who is named on a sanctions list (e.g. United States Treasury Department Sanctions List). This also applies if you are a director of a company that is on the sanctions list. 

  • Any person accused of or found guilty of money laundering, fraud, terrorism, terrorist financing and genocide. 

      Who may be denied                                             St. Kitts & Nevis

                      Citizenship by Investment?

 

Your Citizenship by Investment application may be denied if any of the Applicants or sponsors are considered to be a potential national security risk to St. Kitts and Nevis or any other country or if any of the Applicants or sponsors are involved in any activity likely to cause disrepute to St. Kitts and Nevis. Each case will be assessed on an individual basis. The following are examples of some of the factors the St. Kitts and Nevis Citizenship by Investment Unit may take into consideration:

 

  • Your application may be denied if any of the Applicants or sponsors have been denied a visa to a country with which Saint Christopher and Nevis has visa-free travel. If this applies to you, you will need to show proof that you have made a successful visa application since the first visa denial;

  • Your application may be denied if any of the Applicants or sponsors have been expelled or deported from any country or have been asked or invited by any Government authority to leave any country;

  • Your application may be denied if any of the Applicants or sponsors have been unlawfully present in any country or have been refused a residency permit for any country;

  • Your application may be denied if any of the Applicants or sponsors have applied for citizenship of any other country and that application was denied;

  • Your application may be denied if any of the Applicants or sponsors have sought to assist others to obtain a visa or entry into a country or citizenship of any country by fraud, willful misrepresentation or any other unlawful means;

  • Your application may be denied if any of the Applicants or sponsors have a criminal record or is connected with money-laundering, financing of terrorism or involved in terrorism;

  • Your application may be denied if any of the Applicants or sponsors are the subject of a criminal investigation;

  • Your application may be denied if any of the Applicants or sponsors have been arrested for or convicted or found guilty for any offence(s) against the law of any country;

  • Your application may be denied if any of the Applicants or sponsors have been sentenced to serve a period of time in detention;

  • Your application may be denied if any of the Applicants or sponsors have been involved in genocide;

  • Your application may be denied if any of the Applicants or sponsors, whether personally or as a director of a company, have been the subject of bankruptcy or insolvent liquidation;

  • Your application may be denied if any of the Applicants or sponsors, whether personally or as a director of a company, have been the subject of fraud investigation or court proceedings;

  • Your application may be denied if any of the Applicants or sponsors are or have been directors of a company which is the subject of security exchange control or tax proceedings;

  • Your application may be denied if any of the Applicants or sponsors are parties in any other Court proceedings whether civil or otherwise which have not been resolved or which were resolved against the Applicants or Sponsors;

  • Your application may be denied if any of the Applicants or sponsors have been involved in the unlawful trade of drugs or prostitution or the procurement of prostitutes;

  • Extra scrutiny is given to ‘Politically Exposed Persons’;

  • Your application may be denied if any of the Applicants or sponsors makes a false statement or omits information requested on any of the application forms; and

  • Your application may be denied if the money used pursuant to the citizenship application was obtained from any criminal, terrorist or other unlawful activity.

 

Your St. Kitts and Nevis passport might be revoked if an Applicant or sponsor is subsequently found to have provided false or incorrect information.

 

            An Applicant who is sixteen years and above as well as any financial sponsor is subject to a due diligence background check by a firm(s) appointed by the Citizenship by Investment Unit. These background checks are very extensive. Applicants and sponsors should, therefore, give thorough and honest consideration to the above qualifications/disqualifications before deciding to proceed with an application.
